Pi Network marked Pi2Day 2025 with the release of Node version 0.5.2, quickly followed by version 0.5.3 to fix minor bugs. The key highlight isn't the technical updates but a strategic rebrand—the app is now titled 'Pi Desktop,' signaling its growth beyond simple node operations.

The revamped application incorporates Pi App Studio, allowing developers to create and test Pi-based applications on desktop platforms instead of mobile devices. This transition highlights Pi Network's focus on expanding utility and fostering developer participation. The Core Team noted that this change aligns with upcoming integrations, reinforcing decentralization by maintaining node functionality within the platform.
